the wilderness

Rehearsed reading

Meg has visions where she talks directly to Christ but no one believes her. After dropping out of school, Meg goes to stay with her dad on her family’s ranch in Texas. Meg’s dad has his hands full: the cows are getting sick, there hasn’t been rain in months and his teenage daughter’s arrival is causing strain with his girlfriend.

But Meg has a plan. Now she’s got some space, she can start her project: a forty day fast.

The Wilderness by Philippa Lawford is a story about faith, passion, sacrifice, and the thin barrier between conviction and insanity.
